I used to ride my pony with my friends in the Westwood back in the 1960's. You probably can't ride there any more, but what a beautiful wood it was. One of my favourite places! I am truly happy to see it has been conserved. Wonder if the nut trees are still there?

Great to see some action regarding the essential management of West wood. Since working in there after the 1987 'hurricane', not much coppicing has been done. Nice to see a start, with some hard work maybe the wood will be a productive and diverse habitat for wildlife.

Hello,I walk my son's dog and mine in the woods frequently and love it and to see the work you are doing on it is very satisfying. So glad it is all official now. Have just looked at your website and all the bits and have decided to join. I belong to the Hadleigh Evening W.I. and am hoping that you will come and give us a talk later this year. The more people know the better. Carry on the good work.

Excellent site, great work you are doing in West Wood, the birdlife is the best I have seen for years (even if not rare species). It is a joy to walk through the woods. Can you consider clearing some of the dead trees in the North section of the woods as they are obstructing walkways etc.

I recently walked through West Wood. I am quite local and was not aware of the wood, finding out about it via your excellent website. I must say how impressed I was with the work you have done. I hope the council will allow you to continue. I hope you are able to extend to other areas of the wood so the area is further restored.

Thank you very much for the wildflower seeds that you distributed to local primary schools. My girls are really enjoying them and looking forward to seeing them grow.

It is good to see a group trying to protect the environment in Castle Point. Good luck to you. I no longer live locally but if I did I would come and help. Keep up the good work, I will visit web site to see what you are doing.
